Dr. Josefson (she/her) joined North Carolina Central University in July 2023. Her research focuses on female-centered biology, and more specifically, lactation physiology. She is broadly interested in physiological costs of reproduction in female mammals and the evolution of life history trade-offs. Her research investigates how the environment shapes maternal and offspring physiology using an integrative and multidisciplinary framework. Other interests include biology education research, in particular, best practices for creating an inclusive learning environment.
